Meet Catie

Equine Photographer

Hi! I'm Catie. My horse girl journey started in 1996 when a well meaning neighbor purchased me a lesson for my 7th birthday. A chestnut QH named Buster would make sure that I developed a deep love for horses. That single birthday present would lead the trajectory of my entire life. I spent most of my teens and 20's working a myrid of different jobs, from cleaning stalls to managing a huge breeding program in KY.

After leaving the industry in 2021, I was happy to dive into life as an adult ammy with my little red TB named Abby. Through lots of soul searching, I just had to find a way to stay involved in the industry in a way that didn't require the pressure of showing and training. Thus, Red Mare Photography was born. Named after the little red mare that has seen me through some of my biggest life changes, I aim to capture your best moments with the grace, confidence, and grit. I'm so happy you're here.

FAQ

Do you travel for photoshoots?

Yes! All my session fees include travel up to one hour from my home location. If you are outside that radius, my travel fee is calculated per mile.

What should we wear for our session?

Whatever you feel like best represents you and your horse. I encourage clients to dress in colors that compliment their horses coat colors and try to stay away from bright neons. Patterns and layers can add great depth to your session, so don't be afraid to go all out!

How long does it take to get our photos?

I work my hardest to get your pictures back to you quickly, I'm just as excited as you are! I aim to have albums delivered no later than a three - four week time frame.

What If my Horse doesn't cooperate?

We all have bad days! I approach all my sessions with patience and good humor. I also work in buffer time so we're not rushing. However, if your horse (or dog, or spouse) is just having one of those days, it's no worries! I offer reshoots for a small fee.
